Unpacking The Landmines Of Race And Religion, To Create The Jeremy Lin Brand (via Co.Design)

The hype has faded into a murmur. But even though Linsanity now seems quaint, Jeremy Lin has proven himself quite nicely, thank you. The Knicks are winning again, and last night, he poured in 18 points and 10 assists. He’s averaging 15 and 6. Those would all be very good numbers for a seasoned, multi-millionaire pro.

Jeremy Lin and Linsanity embodied an unprecedented combo of brand identities: A former underdog and pious Christian Asian-American that may appeal to consumers across a wide spectrum of domestic and international markets.

Fresh Air on Google+

nprfreshair:

Because we’re not on enough social media sites yet….

I don’t know what I’m going to use the G+ page for yet. I don’t want to rehash what I post everywhere else. So if you’re curious about what could be a) the next great Internet sensation or b) a total mess…feel free to follow.

Google+ for brands is relatively new and business owners are unsure how to utilize it for marketing campaigns and as alternative medium to interact with consumers.  No one knows if it is capable of rivaling Facebook and LinkedIn that have their niche social media users.  The advantage Google has is its cross-platform supports at Youtube, Gmail, Google Analytics, etc.  With proper G+ tools and cross-platform coordination, Google’s ambitious move could attract brands to use G+ as an integral part of aggressive synchronized marketing campaigns.

The Google+ Business Page Opens With Ripple Effect 11/08/2011 (via MediaPost Publications )

Google+ business page is now opened for brands!

Google launched Google+ for business with little announcement, sufficient tools and supports. It’s definitely NOT a good move if it wants to rival Facebook and stress how much other Google platforms like Youtube, Google search, Google Adsense and Google Analystics can sync with G+ to optimize campaign results.
