You can trust your conscience when:

bluemtnmarc:

1. When Jesus is your Savior and Lord.

2. When God’s Word is the basis for your conduct.

3. When you have a strong desire to obey God.

4. When you prayerfully consider decisions.

5. When it alarms you immediately when you consider wrongdoing.

6. When you feel guilty immediately upon disobedience.

7. When you feel compelled to repent of disobedience.

Occupy Christmas! Rethinking and refuting the general perceptions of Christmas as a season for shopping for material goods.  Why don’t we shop for spiritual gifts that would enrich our mind and soul?  Moreover, the greatest Gift for all mankind is free!
Seek, you will find His unconditional Love.

As our society, culture and technology grow more complex, ironically so does our fascination with the Amish, whose deliberately simple lives and avoidance of modern conveniences speak of an unhurried, peaceful existence. Descendants of the followers of Swiss Anabaptist Jakob Ammann, they immigrated to Pennsylvania from Europe in the early 18th century and set up communities that spread to New York, Ohio and Indiana, and they still live largely separated from the rest of the world.

The following are portraits of the Amish in America.

The Amish epitomized the following:

  • simple living
  • modest lifestyle
  • sustainable living
  • Devoted Christians
  • self-sufficient community

They will survive even if the modern financial and economic systems collapse.  The consumerism-driven society has so much to learn from the Amish worldview.

When you turn to God, He runs to you. The father saw the prodigal son ‘while he was still a long way off’, that’s because the father was yearning and watching and waiting. When you burst out your front door to go find God, you see He was already standing at your door and knocking. Whatever you’ve done, wherever you’ve gone off to, God is right there.

God is always there to lead and guide us no matter what and regardless who we are.
